The sensational fan following of Taylor Swift has paid off as her income has soared. Swift has topped Billboard's 2014 money makers, reported The Hollywood Reporter on March 10, 2014. The top 10 on the annual list also included Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, P!nk and Bon Jovi.
Swift dynamically brought in a string of revenue through multiple different outlets in 2013, as she earned $39,699,575.60. Her income was primarily fueled by 2012's Red album. Her album sales were ranked eighth among all of Billboard's money makers, while she also scored high on the digital front as she sold nearly 10 million downloads, ranking sixth, and fifth in streaming royalties. According to Billboard Boxscore, her strongest showing was on the road, where revenue from six months of touring the U.S. on the "Red Tour" topped all other money makers with an estimated take of $30 million.
The announcement of Swift as the winner of Billboard magazine’s annual money makers for 2013 signifies her enormous appeal to music fans, reports The Los Angeles Times. Billboard noted that she:
crushed it on pretty much every level. ... with merchandising, branding and sponsorships, not factored into her total haul, only upping her stature as a mainstream go-to, Swift has hit that sweet-spot demo that captures revenue from every angle.”
With her talent, charm and good looks, there's every reason to believe Swift will be right at the top of the money makers list again in 2015.
