Host LL Cool J introduced her performance, and Swift opted to not to have a big dance number or stage production. The performance featured Swift playing the piano and singing the song while being backed by back-up singers and her band. The song "All Too Well" is the current single from Taylor Swift's fourth studio album, Red. The album was released on Oct. 22, 2012 via Big Machine Records and reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

In 2014, the album was nominated for two Grammy Awards, Album of the Year and Best Country Album. Her song "Begin Again" was also nominated for Best Country Song, and her collaboration with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban entitled "Highway Don't Care" was nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
