Taylor Swift’s Wichita, Kansas concert tickets were sold out in 15 minutes on Friday. Taylor Swift fans began arriving at 5 am to get in line to purchase tickets when they went on sale at 10 am. But because of a lottery system at ten Select-a-Seat outlets around the area, no one was guaranteed a ticket. At 10 am 12 ticket windows opened, and by 10:15 am the Taylor Swift concert was sold out. Many of the Taylor Swift fans in line tried to get tickets yesterday online and were unable to and decided to brave the lines on Friday.
A lottery system used for in-person ticket purchases at the arena box office, and a person who arrived at 8:40 am was able to be first in line because of it. The lottery system tends to eliminate overnight lines and camping.
People age 12 or older who were in line by 9:30 am received one lottery ticket. At 9:30 am, the tickets were shuffled, and one ticket was drawn. The person who held the matching ticket number was the first person in line, with numerical order tickets behind that person, and those with lower ticket numbers were at the end of the line, with people who arrived after the lottery.
Taylor Swift was in Salt Lake City for a concert on May 26th and that concert was also sold out. Taylor Swift concerts are sold out around the country.
