Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves shine on 2013 ACM Awards red carpet (Photos)

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 7, 2013 - Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift looked elegant on the red carpet at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Carrie Underwood, Jewel, Little Big Town, The Band Perry, Sheryl Crow, Kacey Musgraves and Reba McEntire (among many others) all dazzled for the cameras in various chic gowns and skirts.

Heading into the evening, Swift, a two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year winner, is hoping to continue her winning streak in the top category. Previously, she nabbed the title in 2011 and 2012. If Swift is crowned again tonight, she will be the only female to ever win the trophy three times in the academy's history. The songstress is also up for four other awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year -- the latter for her quadruple-platinum Red album. The collection has already spawned three chart-toppers ("We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "I Knew You Were Trouble." and "Begin Again"). She is poised to continue her reign with current pop single "22."

Swift is also set to perform her new Country single "Highway Don't Care" with crooner Tim McGraw, alongside Keith Urban on guitar. The summer anthem appears on McGraw's latest release (and debut album on Big Machine Label Group), Two Lanes of Freedom. The track follows on the heels of previous releases "Truck Yeah" and No. 1 single "One of Those Nights."

Lambert is also up for many of the night's biggest accolades, ranging from Single and Song of the Year to Video of the Year (all for "Over You," co-penned with husband Blake Shelton).

Musgraves, a relative newcomer, landed a handful of nominations for her remarkable debut single, "Merry Go 'Round." The track serves as the lead single from her newly released Same Trailer Different Park set. "Blown' Smoke" is her current Country offering.

The 2013 ACM Awards kick off live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena at 8 p.m. EST. Co-hosted by Bryan and Shelton, the three-hour event will be broadcast on CBS. Check your local listings.
