Taylor Swift was awarded the first-ever American Country Awards Worldwide Artist Award during the December 10 ceremony in Las Vegas. Though Taylor Swift couldn’t be present due to her current Red tour, she did give an acceptance speech via video, as follows:
Hey guys, it’s Taylor, I’m so sorry I can’t be with you tonight, but I’m so thankful you decided to give me this ACA for world wide artist. Appropriately I’m on the other side of the world right now. I’m playing a show in Sydney, Australia. I’m so happy that you decided to honor touring worldwide. It’s been such an amazing part of my life, writing songs and then getting to play them for the world, to audiences who are singing every single line back to you whether or not it’s an English speaking country. It’s really cool for you to honor that. I really appreciate it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Have an amazing night.
At just 23 years old, Taylor Swift has traveled around the globe, performing in Australia, Asia, and across Europe. She has millions of fans worldwide and has seen an increase in album sales with each new album she releases. Her current album “Red” sold over 1 million copies in its first week of release.
