Taylor Swift is hinting that she may just take a break from her serial dating in new interviews, according to Entertainmentwise today. Taylor showed for last night’s “Golden Globes” in L.A., where she was nominated for best original song for “Safe and Sound” from “The Hunger Games”. Swift lost out to Adele for her theme song “Skyfall” from the latest James Bond flick. Taylor Swift’s apparent grimace on her face immediately following her name not being announced trended on Twitter, as did the jab at her from Tina Fey during one of the comedic banters between Fey and co-host Amy Poehler.
“You know what, Taylor Swift? You stay away from Michael J Fox’s son”, Tina Fey told a shocked and laughing crowd. This in response to Fox’s son Sam being announced as Mr. Golden Globe for this year.
Amy Poehler joked that maybe Swift should “go for it”. Fey replied, “No, she needs some me time to learn about herself”, according to The Huffington Post.
The Mr. and Miss Golden Globe title is awarded to one son and one daughter of Hollywood “Royalty”. For 2013, the honor went to Sam Fox, son of Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan, and to Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher. Traditionally, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Globe carry the awards on stage to hand to the winners, and also enjoy some press leading up to the event, as reported by Zap2it.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with “The Daily Star”, Taylor Swift suggested she may be taking a break from her busy dating scene after her last split. Taylor famously just ended her short relationship with Harry Styles of “One Direction” boy band fame.
A source for “The Sun” said, “Harry and Taylor only dated for a short time but there were very strong feelings, so it's been a tough comedown”. Taylor is infamous for her tumultuous love life, rarely staying single for any length of time.
Swift is also of course well known for turning her failed relationships into heartache inspiration for her song writing. Swift said, “Being in love is the most wonderful thing that can happen to you, though you don't want to be monkey-barring from one relationship to the next”.
The term “monkey-barring” sounds a bit canned, but perhaps her sentiment is sincere. Then again after her recent breakup with Harry Styles, the 23 year-old pop princess tweeted, “Back in the studio. Uh oh…”
