Country music star Taylor Swift belted out her best performance of her hit song “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” onstage at the NRJ music awards in Cannes, according to a Jan. 26 Daily Mail report.
Fans are used to seeing Swift rock the stage, but this time it may have been a little bit awkward because her most recent ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles and his One Direction band mates were in the audience. For her performance, Swift changed out of her gold sequined Elie Saab mini into a black lace outfit, which she accessorized with black knee high boots. Her gold Elie Saab dress was accessorized with Jimmy Choo heels, Ofira earrings and a Lorraine Schwartz ring.
According to the publication, Styles “got his own back when he took his turn on stage, singing with his bandmates before becoming victorious and walking away with the Best International Group gong,” noting that Styles “did seem quieter and more solemn than usual when he first showed up on the red carpet.” Styles and the guys wore black and brown ensembles on the red carpet.
There was nothing quiet or solemn about Swift’s look, however. The singer’s plunging neckline and short hemline on her Elie Saab red carpet dress garnered her best dressed award at the event. Between her outfit and her song of choice, Styles had to get the message about what he was missing.
