Taylor Swift finally ditched her recent white gown selections in favor of a dramatic black Elie Saab gown for the 2013 Brit Awards on Wednesday according to MTV. The event is being held in London, England at the O2, Peninsula Square.
The 'Red' singer chose a very modern and sophisticated look for the awards which was created by Lebanese designer Elie Saab. The clingy gown featured very sexy thigh-high front sheer panels and an entirely sheer back with a split. A modest train was added for maximum effect. Taylor accented with a gold chain waist belt, black stone ring and gold earrings and cuff by Neil Lane. Strappy Zanotti sandals went perfectly with the open look of the design.
At first glance the design did not seem like one that would have been created by Saab who almost always includes embellishments. It reminded me more of the J. Mendel modern dresses Taylor often selects. The gown was stunning in it's simplicity. This was a look that would have worked well without all of the gold accents she added.
Taylor chose bold makeup with an obvious accent on her eyes. She also selected dark nail polish which actually worked well as an accent for the gold jewelry she was wearing.
Taylor is up for Best International Female Solo Artist. She always is on my best dressed lists. Stay tuned for the winners.
