The Country Music Association announced on Nov. 4, 2013 that they will be honoring Taylor Swift with the CMA’s Pinnacle Award. Swift will be receiving the award during the “47th Annual CMA Awards” which are set to happen on Nov. 6, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC. Garth Brooks won the award in 2005 and Swift is the first person to follow.
CMA President of the Board Ed Hardy said “I can’t think of a better opportunity than ‘Country Music’s Biggest Night™’ to present an award of this magnitude to an artist of this caliber” adding “I’ve known Taylor since she was 16. She came to my office with her Mom to play her music and I was amazed. Taylor’s outstanding career epitomizes the definition of the Pinnacle Award.”
Swift heads into “47th Annual CMA Awards” with six nominations including Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for “RED” and three additional nominations for "Highway Don't Care" with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban. Swift will also be taking the stage with some big name artists joining her for the performance including Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Sam Bush, Edgar Meyer, and Eric Darken.
