The iHeartRadio Music Festival announced a fourth extraordinary year of genre-bending music with the July 23 announcement of the event’s 2014 lineup. And with an exceptional roster of music luminaries that includes One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Mötley Crüe and many others, it might be easier to list the handful of artists that won’t be at the Sep. 19-20 Las Vegas happening.
No one knows the incredible collective star power of the lineup better than festival host Ryan Secrest. “These artists are all at the top of their game,” Seacrest said in a statement. “They do this for a living; they're doing it every night on tour – but they also know that the other artists that are doing it are there and will be watching. So they try and change it up, amp it up a little. All eyes are on them.”
The 2014 edition will be more of the "once-in-a-lifetime" same as concertgoers will witness the music industry’s best, literally from A…Ariana Grande…to Z… Zac Brown Band. In addition to the dazzling artists previously mentioned, fans at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino can expect performances from Nicki Minaj, Paramore, Train, Calvin Harris, Bastille, Steve Aoki – and a few surprise artists.
“Year after year the iHeartRadio Music Festival continues to deliver an unprecedented music experience for millions of fans nationwide,” added Seacrest. “I couldn't be more excited to be part of it. The adrenaline-pumping performances by pop stars and legendary artists alike, the never-seen-before collaborations, the energy of the fans and the artists, this is truly an event like no other.”
With such a diverse array of artists, fans can expect some mind-boggling collaborations. Just try to wrap your head around Swift sharing a mic with Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil. And many of the artists have recently released new albums (Coldplay’s Ghost Stories and Ed Sheeran’s X) or are due for one (Swift in the fall).
In addition to the astounding music, the Sin City happening will feature an iHeartRadio Music Festival Village featuring live performances by Iggy Azalea, Neon Trees, Kacey Musgraves, Childish Gambino, Magic!, the Pretty Reckless, Lil Jon and more. The Village also include “fan zones” and interactive experiences with brand partners.
Fans that can’t travel to Vegas can listen to a live broadcast of the event on Clear Channel stations in 150 cities or watch a live stream on Yahoo! Screen beginning each night of the Festival at 10:30 p.m. EST. Fans can also watch a two-night special broadcast on the CW at 8 p.m. EST on Sep. 29 and 30.
Tickets for the general public will go on sale on July 26 at 1 p.m. EST.
