Despite her freshly minted single card and serial dater M.O., rumors that songstress Taylor Swift has rebounded from her 65-day romance with One Direction's Harry Styles with U.K. sensation Ed Sheeran have been shut down according to a Jan. 26 report from Hollywood Life.
"It's all nonsense," said Kevin Paul, tattoo artist and close friend of Sheeran's.
Paul noted that speculation over a relationship began after he inked Sheeran with a tat of the word "Red," the title of tour buddy Swift's latest album.
"[The tattoo is] part of his life. It's not for her," said Paul. "It's because he is on the album, but the press really saw it as [being] for her."
Indeed, in late December, Sheeran admitted that although he and Swift had "great fun" when they first met and quickly grew close, he doesn't think he is Swift's "type."
Note that Sheeran never said the he wasn't interested in dating Swift, just that he felt he wouldn't stand a chance against Swift's dating standard of smoldering Lotharios.
"If you look at all the dudes she's dated, they're all tall, brown hair, brown eyes, very attractive and all the girls scream for them," Sheeran added. "I'm chubby, ginger with blue eyes."
True, but Swift’s incessantly lovelorn song lyrics are indicative that going the tall, dark and handsome route hasn’t provided the best track record. Perhaps a walk on the redhead side would prove a beneficial change in pace for the “I Knew You Were Trouble" singer.
Swift even admitted to some curiosity about giving a flame-haired man a go and stated during an interview in November that she would “do a ginger.”
