Taylor Lautner, who recently sued a California RV dealer for breach of contract, has turned down the dealer’s offer to settle the lawsuit through a push-up contest.

'Lack of Professionalism'

Lautner, through his attorneys, released the following statement Aug. 30, slamming McMahon’s offer as a cheap publicity stunt:

“McMahon’s RV’s response to our client’s legitimate claim further demonstrates the lack of professionalism that Mr. McMahon, his company and his employees have exhibited from the outset, and that compelled the filing of this lawsuit in the first place.”

In a press conference Aug. 30, Brent McMahon, who owns McMahon’s RV of Irvine, Calif., had offered to settle the litigation with the 18-year-old Twilight hunk with a good old-fashioned push-up contest. Whoever does the most push-ups wins.

McMahon, 47, promised that if he defeated Lautner, he would donate $40,000 to a children’s charity.

Earlier this month, Taylor sued McMahon’s RV, claiming the dealership failed to deliver a customized trailer to him by their agreed-upon deadline of June 21. Lautner had intended to use the trailer on the Pittsburgh, Pa., set of his new film Abduction (which he spent July and August shooting).

McMahon and his attorney claim Taylor and his dad Dan (who negotiated the RV contract) demanded $40,000 to settle the dispute. When McMahon refused to pay up, Lautner filed suit.

Taylor Will Settle Suit If RV Dealer Donates to Charity

In the letter rejecting McMahon's push-up contest, Taylor stated he would happily settle the lawsuit if McMahon donated the $40,000 to the children’s hospital. But under no circumstances would he agree to a push-up contest (which, frankly, works out best for McMahon).

When asked about McMahon’s chances of beating the super-fit Lautner, McMahon’s attorney joked: “He works out regularly, but he’s a 47-year-old man. He’s no Taylor Lautner.”

Meanwhile, Taylor will soon reunite with his Twilight co-stars Kellan Lutz and Robert Pattinson to begin rehearsals and fight-training for Breaking Dawn.

Of course he shouldnt! That RV dude is so unprofessional, Taylor’s lawyer got it exactly right, well said.. very well said. Exactly my point! Taylor is a mature and the most down to earth young actor, you can see it in all his interviews. He wont do this unless its required! Brent whats-his-name is so crazy for proposing the ridiculous settlement. I cant even believe his lawyer agreed with him n went through with it! They’re both immature idiots! Get ready to lose your business Brent Mcmahon cause u sure will lose a whole lot of customers. Act your age,old man!
