Cistrunk is currently serving as an intern at McDonough Elementary school (MES) who plans on joining the Air Force after graduation in May. Future plans include becoming a physical therapist.
While at HCHS Cistrunk has participated on the varsity basketball and volleyball teams.
Chad Drake, Work-Based Learning Coordinator for Henry County High School, stated, “Taylor has proven herself to be a very responsible young woman.”
“Taylor cares about her education and strives to do her best on every task.”
Janet Wesley, Cistrunk’s job supervisor, relayed similar sentiments about the well-rounded student.
“Taylor is a dedicated senior form Henry County High who comes in the afternoons to McDonough Elementary to help teachers with whatever tasks they need,” said Wesley. “She is so reliable and intelligent that teachers line up to get her to help with needs that they have to keep their classroom running smoothly. She is a delight to have at MES.”
The setting for her employment is a chance for school to come full circle for Cistrunk. She was once a student at McDonough Elementary. According to her, it is great to be able to come back and help teachers who helped her become the student she is today.
“I enjoy working with the same teachers that taught me,” said Cistrunk, “and now they can see that their hard work did not go to waste.”
