On Dec. 12, 2013, representatives for Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel announced that the couple has separated. Diggs and Menzel were married in 2003. They have son named Walker, who was born in 2009.

This statement was released to People magazine: "Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time. Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time."

Diggs and Menzel have done numerous projects in film, TV and theater. They met and fell in love while working on the Broadway musical "Rent," and they later co-starred in the 2005 movie version of "Rent" with many of the same cast members who were part of the original Broadway production. The movie "Rent" is currently available on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD.

Menzel and Diggs each have hit movies that were released in November 2013. Menzel has a voice role in Walt Disney Pictures' "Frozen," while Diggs co-stars in Universal Pictures' "The Best Man Holiday."

Menzel's performance of "Let It Go" from the "Frozen" soundtrack is No. 57 this week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "Let It Go" is also nominated for Best Original Song at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards.

In 2004, Menzel won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role as the Wicked Witch in "Wicked."

Diggs is set to co-star in the sequel to "The Best Man Holiday."
