A Taunton plane crash took the life of two people onboard a small plane early Sunday morning. According to Boston.com on Aug. 25, the Taunton plane crash happened at 6:38 this morning during take off at the Taunton Municipal Airport in Massachusetts.
Authorities report that the plane was attempting to take off when it ran into problems and came crashing down near Westcoat Drive, which is the roadway that leads into the Taunton airport.
According to Taunton police Lieutenant Robert Casey, no one on the ground was injured. Details of the crash, including the number of people onboard were not immediately made available, reports Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen.
It is not known what type of aircraft was involved in the crash. The crash is currently being investigated by local and state police as well as the fire department and FAA. Officials at Taunton Municipal Airport were not available for comment immediately after the crash was reported.
