One of Philadelphia's finest watering holes also just also happens to be the city's most eclectic. Located on South Street, just a block west from Jim's Steaks is Tattooed Mom, a bar celebrating diversity in style, people, appetite and thirst.
The main floor invites the crowds to enjoy not only the pub's food and drink, of which there is plenty, but also the intriguing ambiance of brightly painted walls, Victorian-era furniture and the handfuls of treats scattered upon the many tables. For the more traditional among us, the main floor is not without a proper bar, providing ample seating for patrons to sip away and enjoy.
A stark contrast to the main floor, the upstairs is adorned with walls of stickers and graffiti, and perfectly captures the late-night dive bar personality with its lounge area and billiard tables.
The rotating draft list at Tattooed Mom gives the best in local and regional brewing a chance to shine, and with draft specials every day between 5-7 p.m. and 10-11 p.m., there's nary an excuse to be a stranger. The bar staff tend to have the sort of rough demeanor one would expect from a South Street dive, but their ability to sling drinks quickly continues to work in their favor.
