South Street holds a special place in Philadelphia’s arsenal of places to see, do, and experience. Right in the middle of the circus that it often is resides Tattooed Mom. This small, two story shop is a truly unique dining and drinking experience. The walls are bright and the atmosphere is comfortable. It is a bar but it feels more like a regular restaurant.
The food is cheap though it is still worthwhile for a relaxing bite of tasty comfort food. On Wednesdays, Tattooed Mom offers 50 cent pierogies and $1.50 Pabst. While Pabst may not be seen as a beer drinker’s dream come true, it is still good for a couple cheap swallows for the budget-conscious. The pierogies themselves, very good. They come fried and you just order them by how many you want. There is no takeout on this special but once you walk into Tattooed Mom, you will not feel as though you want to leave immediately anyway. The entertainment on your tables should keep you occupied just long enough for them to greet you.
