With the beginning of 2013 upon us, this is an appropriate time to start planning which of the great Wine Tastings you are planning on attending on before the Spring growing season is here.
One Festival/Event that should top the list of most West Coast Zin Lovers is the 22nd Annual Zinfandel Festival in San Francisco. The three day event, January 31 through February 2, is one of the nation’s top showcases for Zinfandel Wines. Sponsored by ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates and Producers), the tasting feature vineyard after vineyard of top Zin wineries.
The three day extravaganza is held at different venues in The City. Each day has a special flavor, a special pairing, or a special dinner for Zin fans.
The schedule:
- Thursday At The Concourse, Food and Zin Pairings
- Friday Forums of Flavor at the Fairmont Hotel
- Friday Night Winemakers Dinner (a benefit dinner)
- Saturday The Grand Tasting, again at The concourse.
To put into perspective the magnitude of this event, at the Grand Tasting there are over 100 wineries participating. In addition, there are pairing suggestions, cooking demonstrations and a multitude of workshops and seminars available.
