Get ready, South Florida – Share Our Strength’s Taste of The Nation South Florida is almost here! Taking place in many cities throughout for over 20 years, the “Taste” is arguably the most recognized and longest-running food & wine event in the country– and the South Florida Taste is perhaps the very best! But the really good news, is that all goes to benefit Share Our Strength’s valiant efforts to ending childhood hunger in America.

Last year marked the inaugural launch “Taste of the Nation South Florida,” combining the former Miami and Ft. Lauderdale Tastes into one singular sensation. The new venture “proved to be a much stronger event, attracting a larger group of restaurants, attendees and sponsors,” notes Restaurant Chair Chef Timon Balloo. Building upon last year’s unparalleled success, this year’s spectacular will showcase over 50 of the hottest restaurants from both Dade and Broward counties, along with top chefs, sommeliers, mixologists, beer meisters, and dessert makers.
It all takes place Tuesday, June 17 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the main ballroom of the famed Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

And what a “Taste” it will be! The participating restaurants and chefs reads like a culinary “Who’s Who” of south Florida. And after the party? Don’t miss the After Party! The exclusive new Black and Blanco After Party (10:00 - midnight), sponsored by Tequila Casa Dragones Blanco. Hosted by Chef Josh Capon at Lure Fishbar at Loews Miami Beach, The party will feature hors d’oeuvres by Lure, as well as chocolate temptations by some of Miami’s top pâtissiers (Jordi Panisello of Fontainebleau, Josh Gripper of The Dutch at The W, and Antonio Bachour of St. Regis Bal Harbour). Each sweet selection will be paired with custom cocktails created by Lure’s head mixologist Rob Ferrara

General admission tickets are $125; VIP tickets at $250. VIP ticket holders enjoy exclusive access to the event an hour before the general doors open, as well as admission to the Black and Blanco After Party, and other privileges. “Last year, Taste of the Nation South Florida attracted more than 50 restaurant participants and raised more than $130,000, which helped connect children in need with up to 13 million meals,” added long-time Taste of the Nation event chairman, Chef Allen Susser. “We’re confident the event will continue to grow, helping us raise the critical funds needed to end childhood hunger.” (So are we, Chef!).
