Last weekend was the Tennessee State Fair Beer Festival. I was impressed with the turn out and the beer. Before I talk about the beer I would like give a shout out to the Grilled Cheeserie. I have wanted to try the food for a while but have never had the chance. If you have never tried the food you should. The next time you see them go ahead and order your grilled cheese your way. So add me to the devotees of that food truck.
At the event, I was able to meet some great people, taste good beer and food. I was able to try Tennessee Brew Works and The Black Abbey beers. Black Abbey brought an English pale and Tennessee brought an Extra Easy Pale Ale and a test project brew. I was impressed by both of these beers especially the Black Abbey English Pub Ale and can’t wait for their tap rooms to open. I cannot recommend Tennessee Brew Works and Black Abbey strong enough. Look for them around town especially at Craft Brewed and M.L. Rose. Also at the event were some out of town beers such as Terminal, Chattanooga and Calfkiller. These breweries also brought some good beer to the fair especially the White IPA from Terminal in Chattanooga.
I would like to send a thank you out to @beermakesthree for the tickets to this event. Kendall Joseph the man behind the name is an avid homebrewer and beer enthusiast. His wife June started the Nashville Girls Pint Out group about a year and a half go. So check out both of these people on twitter and facebook.
While this event was fun and had awesome beer, we cannot forget about the other festivals coming up in the next few weeks. These festivals include the Flying Saucers Beerfeast and the Riverfront beer festival. So as always you can follow me on twitter and untappd @princessofhops.
