Mt. Veeder wine grapes benefit from different sun exposures, types of soils, and elevations and the cooling influences of the San Pablo Bay. Comes to no surprise then, that we can enjoy an array of wine grape varietals from this American Viticultural Area (AVA). The Mt. Veeder, like the rest of the Napa Valley AVAs, is known for Cabernet Sauvignon; however, other wine grape varietals like Albariño, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Malbec, Merlot, Mondeuse, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Zinfandel are also grown.

Do not miss out on tasting all Mt. Veeder wines in one place. The Annual Mt. Veeder Appellation Tasting, celebrating its 15th year, will take place Saturday, September 6 at The Hess Collection Winery, 4411 Redwood Road, Napa, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tickets for the event can be bought at the Mt. Veeder Appellation website and include wine tasting from thirty Mt. Veeder wineries, food pairings from The Hess Collection, Executive Chef, Chad Hendrickson and live high-energy blues from The Hummingbirdz. Also join the Silent Auction and Raffles where you can win limited production gems from these Mt. Veeder wineries!
