Hungry for a plate lunch, made to order - Hawaiian style?
Stop by L & L in Irvine, located on the corner of Culver and Walnut in the Heritage Shopping Center.
You have several entrée choices for a tradition Hawaiian plate lunch, which comes in two sizes, mini and regular. Take my advice order the regular and take leftovers home. If you can't make up your mind - order two mini sized plates and eat to your heart's desire.
If you've been to Hawaii you know all plate lunches come with a serving of rice and macaroni salad on the side. I have to admit this is the best macaroni salad in town. It's not fancy it's simply delicious.
One of my favorites is the musubi. It's perfect as a snack or an appetizer. We're heard the jokes about Spam, but this is the real deal and absolutely delicious! Set the image in your mind - spam musubi is a oblong shaped block of rice, topped with fried Spam and wrapped in black seaweed. It's a meal in itself.
The saimin soup, hamburger lovers, try the Loco Moco. If you're into ribs, the Korean style short ribs are great anytime of the day. Don't forget to add one of Hawaii's favorite juices from traditional fruit flavors to Hawaii's best.
Come and enjoy the flavors of Hawaii.
