Ever take a trip to downtown San Diego and feel completely overwhelmed by the dining options? I mean, how long would it take you to eat through that whole area? Probably forever. Well luckily with the Taste of Downtown, you can minimize that time by grubbing down at over 50 eateries in just one night.
This Thursday, September 26, from 5-9pm guests will meet at the Car2Go location at 633 9th Avenue in East Village, to pick up their tickets for the 21st Annual Taste of Downtown. Participating restaurants will be scattered throughout the downtown neighborhoods of the Gaslamp Quarter, Financial District, East Village and Horton Plaza.
Sponsors for the event include the Downtown San Diego Partnership, which advocates the branding and revitalization of Downtown San Diego, and Car2Go San Diego, which are those little smart cars you see all around San Diego, offering a special car-share program. A free shuttle service will be available throughout the evening to transport guests to different areas of downtown for tastings.
Participating restaurants include the Donut Bar, Knotty Barrel, and the Tilted Kilt Bar & Eatery in East Village, RA Sushi and Tender Greens in the Financial District, and Lucky Bastard Saloon, Donovan’s Prime Seafood, and Whiskey Girl in the Gaslamp, as well as many, many, others. The goal of this event is to bring San Diegans together to explore and enjoy this ever-blossoming neighborhood, with the proceeds benefitting the Downtown San Diego Partnership.
Tickets can be purchased for $30 in advance or for $35 the day of. For tickets, or more information, visit www.downtownsandiego.org/tasteofdowntown
