Friday, June 25 – Rap Down Rewind
On opening night, June 25, the City of Chicago and W103 present Rap Down Rewind, with an all star .lineup of rappers including Salt-n-Pepa and Bell Biv Devoe, Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh. Rap Don Rewind begins at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 26 – Gavin Rossdale
The distinctive vocals of Gavin Rossdale in his new solo career, highlights the Saturday concert. Formerly a part of bands such as Bush and Institute, Gavin Rossdale’s first-ever solo album, Wanderlust included hits such as “Love Remains the Same” and “Forever May You Run.” The concert begins at 5:30 p.m,
Sunday, June 27 – City of Chicago and Radio Disney
The young people take the stage in a show presented by the City of Chicago and Radio Disney. Most might know Emily Osment from her work as Lilly Truscott on “Hannah Montana” but the latest chapter in the singer/songwriter's life (All the Right Wrongs) is all about music. Opening for Osment is Allstar Weekend, Cameron, Zach, Michael and Nathan;. While they are still teenagers, they write and perform pop songs like musical veterans.
Monday, June 28 – Broadway in Chicago
Broadway in Chicago is a Monday night tradition at Taste of Chicago.. Broadway in Chicago a nod the the theater scene. Broadway in Chicago is headlined by the cast of Chicago’s own Billy Elliot, as well as Shrek, Wicked, Rock of Ages, Wicked, Rock of Ages, Traces, Million Dollar Quartet and others.. The Broadway In Chicago Concert at Taste of Chicago begins at 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 29 – Dos for Tuesday
This year at Taste, it’s two for Tuesday….or rather Dos for Tuesday,. Los Lonely Boys and Los Lobos are co-headliners. The two bands may have entered the music scene a generation apart but they share a musical style that displays their multiple influences including rock and their respective heritages. Show starts at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, June 30 – Mat Kearney
Mat Kearney has gone from opening act to headliner at Taste in jus tfour short years. Kearney’s latest album, City of Black & White, is reflective of that time when the Oregon born and Nashville based singer was on the road in support of his break-through recording. Opening for Kearney is singer songwriter Brett Dennen whose songs have already been featured on shows such as House and Grey’s Anatomy. Music begins at 5:30p.m.
Thursday, July 1 – Trey Songz
Grammy® nominated for Best Male R&B performance, Trey Songz is enjoying tremendous success with his latest album, Ready. Which has yielded four top 10 hits on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop singles chart. Opening for Songz at 5:30 p.m. is singer/songwriter, Teairra Mari in an evening presented by the City of Chicago and WGCI.
Friday, July 2 – Rob Thomas
Taste’s final weekend kicks off with one of the most accomplished singer/songwriters of the last decade, Rob Thomas. From his work as lead singer for Matchbox Twenty to his various collaborations with artists such as Santana, plus his solo work including newest release cradlesong, Thomas brings his creativity to Taste for a free concert that begins at 5:30 p.m,. presented by the City of Chicago and Bud Light.
Saturday, July 3 – Steve Miller Band
Fresh on the heels of the band’s first studio album in 17 years, Bingo, the Steve Miller Band takes over the band shell on Saturday, 3 at 3p.m. Harkening back to the band’s roots in blues music, the return to Chicago and its premier summer event is the perfect setting for Miller. Sure to be included is the band’s collection of greatest hits such as “Take the Money and Run,” “Jet Airliner,” “The Joker” and “Fly Like An Eagle”…the space cowboy will not disappoint.
Sunday, July 4 – Concert Presented by City of Chicago and 93XRT
The July 4 concert features Passion Pit, Robert Randolph and the Family Band. The opening act, Carney, begins at noon.
