Sunday Best season six winner Tasha Page-Lockhart debuts new single 'Different' via Ustream with award-winning producer and songwriter Kirk Franklin. Yesterday afternoon, Fo Yo Soul Entertainment artist Tasha Page-Lockhart shared her full circle journey via a telephone interview.
Tasha's roots go deep in the Gospel music industry as the daughter of Lisa Page-Brooks, founding member of the contemporary Gospel group Witness and her Dad Pastor Michael Brooks, one of the original members of Commissioned. Even though Tasha had a depth of spiritual upbringing, she found herself using drugs, drinking, partying and getting pregnant at a young age. Tasha's experiences has led her on a journey back to herself and God.
Winning Sunday Best season six was never something she thought she would ever do, according to Tasha. After missing the Chicago audition because of a previous engagement, she thought that it wasn't her time, however a friend paid her way to Houston to audition there. What if Tasha never had taken the opportunity presented? We know now that she would have missed a genuine blessing in store for her. (Click on video to hear the full interview.)
Because of her personal struggles and experiences, Tasha remains humble with her feet on the ground. Joining forces with Kirk Franklin on his label, Fo Yo Soul Entertainment, has enlarged her territory to share her testimony of redemption. Proclaiming her message of being "Different" now, Tasha Page Lockhart's path is set for a future of making a difference and being an effective witness of Jesus Christ.
For now, those of us who have grown to love Tasha's style of "sangin'" from watching her on Sunday Best can get a listen to her new single "Different" (click here), which is slated for release on April 22.
