Target Recalls Children's Two-Piece Pajama Sets (Photos)

Retail giant Target has announced a voluntary recall of their Circo and Xhilaration brand two-piece cotton or cotton/fleece sets. The reason for the recall is that these pajama sets do not meet the federal flammability standards of sleep wear. These pajamas already had warnings regarding their flammability. The label inside the garments had a warning stating "Wear snug fitting, not flame resistant" In addition there is also an attached yellow tag that states "For child's safety, garment should fit snugly. This garment is not flame resistant. Loose-fitting garment is more likely to catch fire" Despite both these warnings the CPSC determined that the garments do not fit the tight fitting size requirements. So even though Target was warning customers to ensure a snug-fit, their sizes were not tight enough, and this posed a burn hazard to the children sleeping in these pajamaes

The recall affects the Circo and Xhilration pajama sets in sizes 12M, 2T, 3T, 4T and 5T, and in girls and boys sizes XS, S, M, L and XL. These were sold by Target between August and November 2012. Target will issue a full refund for the pajama sets. For more information on the recall visit CPSC
