Target fails again with gift cards not being activated

See also

Target has once again disappointed their customers shopping after Christmas with gift cards with the discovery today (Dec. 31) that their Target gift cards were not activated.

Approximately 40,000 Target gift cards are included in this new Target "fail" and comes after the pre-Christmas disaster of the credit card breech of customers who used credit and debit cards at Target locations.

Customers who received the Target gift cards for Christmas can get assistance by visiting a Target Customer Service desk or by calling the phone number on the back of the gift card. It was not stated how Target was handling this new problem or if they would issue new cards or refunds at this time.

The Target credit card breech that occurred right before Christmas affected over 40 million people and was the second largest credit card breech in U.S. history. The breech happened between November 27, 2013 and December 15, 2013 when customers made purchases at Target locations all over the United States with a credit or debit card. Information was stolen from the accounts which may have included the customers PIN numbers, which is supposed to make sure all transactions are secure.
