Tareq and Michaele Salahi are now well known for their infamous White House party crashing at the Obama’s first state dinner, however inquiries into their annual America's Polo Cup, benefiting the Salahi run charity Journey for the Cure are now under examination. Tareq and Michaele Salahi have had multiple lawsuits and documentation “problems” regarding the America’s Polo Cup charity event.

Tareq and Michaele Salahi's next America’s Polo Cup event is scheduled to take place June 11-12, 2010 and is to center around a polo match between the United States, for which Tareq Salahi is the captain, and India, benefiting the Journey for the Cure charity.

General admission tickets start at $25, "Cartier VIP tickets" are $600 to $1,000, and a lifetime membership to the event is $100,000. The three-year-old polo cup's Web site also states it has been "patroned every year by the President of the United States," however there are no records of any president attending any of the polo cups.

Many sponsors listed on America's Polo Cup for 2010 website, including Land Rover, Cartier, and the St. Regis Hotel in Washington D.C. also state they are not sponsors for the event. Additionally many vendors in previous years stated in interviews that the Salahis never paid them for their services in the event's three-year history, with expenses totaling about $500,000 many have filed lawsuits, and the couple has reportedly countersued often.

The charity Journey for the Cure which was established in January 2004, never registered with Virginia to raise funds. This led to a year-long dispute with Tareq Salahi about providing documentation, according to Elaine Lidholm, director of communications for the Virginia agency. The Journey for the Cure website as of Friday afternoon has been taken down.

Tareq Salahi also stated to The Washington Post last year that the 2007 America’s Polo Cup charity event raised $250,000 and that he hoped to exceed that amount with the next event. However, the Journey for the Cure Foundation, the event's recipient, reported that it received $18,608 in 2007, and donated $15,000 to its causes in 2007, as state financial disclosure forms show.

What do you think of Tareq and Michaele Salahi after all their party crashing, their “Today” show interview, and now a seemingly farce charity event? Leave a comment below and let us know!

I am still shaking my head, in attempts to decipher the atrocious grammar of the lede. Inquiries are now under examination? The Examiner should really cull all these random content contributors.

Today in a Virginia court Mr "Rich-and-Famous" Tared Salihi had to give up the watch he was wearing to a landscaper he screwed. Look it up in the Washington Post

Agree, Robyn. These folks are going to be in much more trouble for this apparently fake charity. They've got filing problems, trademark infringement and when their rich donors' tax deductions are disallowed, a world of hurt coming down on their heads.

These two seem to be Madoff wannabees.

Fame is addicting and these 2 twits are a classic example....they are playing "dumb" and "turning phrases" to suit their "case"....it's obvious they can't even earn a living
