On the Lifetime Channel a made for television movie, ‘Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story’ airs Monday night. The true story is the dramatic journey one woman who went after her son when he was abducted by his biological father and taken from New York to South Korea.
Taraji P. Henson plays lead character Tiffany Rubin, but it isn’t a typical character you have seen her play in the past. Usually Henson plays bubbly, light hearted characters, but tonight the role is dramatic and intense.
"Lifetime came full circle for me. They gave me the first shot. I played a cop,” says Taraji P. Henson who was explaining why she took on the role. “They gave me my own movie. Why not? I was really intrigued with the story. For the first time I get to play a real live person who is still alive. It was more to sticking to her story. I am a mom and understood her struggle and her journey.”
After the Lifetime Movie, the story of Tiffany Rubin continues with ‘Beyond the Headlines: The Tiffany Rubin Story.’ The real person of which the movie is based on, Tiffany Rubin, talks about decision to get back her son in March 2008 who had been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Lee. Sharing the struggles, court battles and emotions, a firsthand look of a mother’s nightmare is revealed. Luckily it has a happy ending!
