Actress Taraji P. Henson stopped by “The Arsenio Hall Show” Thursday night to plug her new film and got a surprise visit from a co-star and dear friend from one of her past movies. Henson stars as Dr. Catana Starks the first female coach to lead an all-men’s college golf team in “From the Rough” which opens in theaters this weekend.

The Oscar nominated actress took a moment to remember the late Michael Clarke Duncan who also stars in the film.

“It’s funny because in the film he plays, his character is sort of like my guardian angel. He’s like my eyes and ears around the department when they’re conspiring to get rid of me. And in a spiritual way, I feel like he was the guardian angel that kind of helped this project get distributed because we filmed this in 2010 so it took a minute for us to get the money.“

The show turned into a mini-reunion of sorts when in the middle of a disucssion about a love scene in the John Singleton-directed “Baby Boy”, her co-star Tyrese Gibson appeared from backstage and surprised Henson. The “Fast & Furious 6” star spoke about their special friendship which has lasted since that 2001 movie.

“This is my best friend forever. I’m telling you man we’re stuck by the hip…for life.”

From the Rough which also stars Tom Felton, Henry Simmons and LeToya Luckett premieres in theaters Friday April 25.
