Last week, Taqueria Mercado opened a third location, filling the vacated Javier's Mexican Restaurant space at 100 East 8th Street in downtown Cincinnati.

The restaurant has a casual rustic decor and is open for all three mealtimes: 9:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 9:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It's one of the few places that is open late during the week, and serves breakfast on the weekends.

Overall, for the ingredient costs and portion sizes, Taqueria Mercado provides generous portions. Entrees are priced from $2.29 for a breakfast burrito to $15 for the larger dinner plates and seafood items. A small burrito starts at $4.25 and is comparable to a "large" burrito from a locally popular chain Mexican casual restaurant.

Lunch specials are available Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ten generous dish items are priced at $5.50 and include rice and beans. A lunch special fajita is $6.50.

The other two Taqueria Mercado locations are in Fairfield, OH and Florence, KY. Fairfield location menu.
