As you approach, the large glass windows creating the building façade give you a fishbowl-like view from the street. Upon entering, the art adorned, earthy red brick walls, unfinished ceiling with exposed fixtures and dark stained bar are evidence of Castleberry Hill’s industrial past, but also it’s stylish move forward into modernity.

What’s to like? Happy hour drink specials make Tapas 255 Lounge an ideal after-work stopover. Pull up a seat at the bar and marvel at the wood and glass backdrop that houses a fine assortment of liquor and bottled beer while ordering your drink. $5 beer and well drinks are great options for those who are cash conscious and will ensure you stay within budget.

For a place that’s more of a neighborhood bar, than a restaurant, the food is very tasty. Their Baby Basket, a selection of any 4 mini-burgers, is perfect for sharing. With well-sized portions of Veggie, Turkey, Chicken, Salmon, Shrimp, Tilapia, Crab, Steak or Beef, you’re welcome to mix and match your baby burgers to your stomach’s content. A side of Sweet Potato Fries complements the burgers well.

What could be better? The attentiveness of the wait and bar staff has room for improvement. When available, they are always helpful and courteous, but they seem to disappear for long stretches at a time, which makes refreshing your beverage and ordering food difficult. Also, perfecting small touches such as the “double pour” for Guinness draught will go a long way with guests with a discerning eye and palate.
