Fritsch’s T48 effort earned him $13,817, which is his first payday of the year. He had rounds of 67, 70, 67 and 70. His 22 birdies placed him T29 in the category.

Canadian cutline casualties at the event were Stephen Ames of Calgary, Brights Grove’s Mike Weir and David Hearn of Brampton.

Gulbis hooks up with getaway group

LPGA star Natalie Gulbis has joined the team at

Gulbis says she’ll wear the company’s logo on her shirtsleeve during the 2014 LPGA Tour schedule.

Myrtle Beach Trips features 22 courses from Farmstead Golf Links in Calabash, N.C., to Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island, S.C.

Gulbis adds that Pawleys Plantation will be her Myrtle Beach-area home course.

She says she’ll be posting pictures and links to her favourite things about Myrtle Beach on her Twitter page @Natalie_Gulbis.
