Champions Tour heads to Levis, Que., in 2014
Synchro Sports has announced that an official PGA Tour Champions Tour event will be conducted Sept. 1-7 at La Tempete Golf Club in Levis, Que.
The tournament, which had been played in Montreal and named the Montreal Championship for the past four summers, is now called the Quebec City Championship.
Synchro Sports will continue to serve as tournament promoter for the first PGA Tour sanctioned event to be held in the area since Billy Casper won the 1956 Labatt Open. The Quebec Remparts organization will join forces with Synchro Sports as the event’s official marketing partners.
The 54-hole Quebec City Championship, featuring an 81-player field will post a $1.6M U.S. purse with the winner earning $240,000. All three rounds will be carried on Golf Channel.
Former champions in Montreal, Larry Mize (2010), John Cook (2011), Mark Calcavecchia (2012) and Esteban Toledo (2013), will attempt to become the first player to capture the championship for a second time when the Champions Tour arrives in Quebec City next year.
