Tantric and Moon Honey top Wednesday's concerts

Louisville rock act Tantric will perform at the House of Bricks in Des Moines tomorrow at 5 p.m. The Hugo Ferreira (see slideshow) fronted project has racked up a gold album and four Top 10 Mainstream Rock singles, including the #1 smash "Breakdown" (featured video). Tantric released their latest album, 37 Channels, last September. As For You, the Lucas Beebe Band, and The Fallen Truth will open the show. Tickets for the concert are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the show. This will be an all ages show.

Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines will host a concert doubleheader on Wednesday night. First, acoustic power pop artist Scott Samuels will headline the 7 p.m. early show. Samuels released his first full-length solo album, entitled Great Big World, in March of 2013. Des Moines grunge band CC and the Juniors will open the show. The all ages show will have a $5 cover charge. Later in the evening, the Baton Rouge psychedelic pop/rock quartet Moon Honey (pictured) will top a nightcap lineup that also features Des Moines alternative acts Love Songs for Lonely Monsters and Annalibera. Moon Honey released their new album Hand-Painted Dream Photographs last December. The late show will kick off at 10 p.m., and it will carry a $7 cover charge. The late show is a 21+ event.

The Gas Lamp will host "Sight & Sound: A Night of Music and Art" tomorrow starting at 5 p.m. The night will feature art, video, and photography on display from local artists Van Holmgren, Antonio Rodriguez, Bruce James Bales, and others, plus live music from Portland alternative folk rock artist Krist Kruger and Portland noise rock group Yardsss. The all ages event will have a $5 cover charge.
