Tampa's free festivals this month

This Friday don't miss “The Venturas” music outside performance during the First Friday in Downtown monthly jam. The band’s musical playlist reflects their love of jazz, blues, soul, country and swing. Overall, this monthly festival is pre-planning worthy, especially with this month's stellar performers. Check out Dunedin's annual Spring Antiques Fair and Classic Car Show, on Main St. Explore one of Florida's outstanding antique shows with over 75 dealers showcasing classic cars. Monday, (March 4, 8:00 PM) discover Al Downing Jazz Jam sessions, at The Hangar Restaurant & Flight Lounge. Al Downing and Ernie Calhoun, renowned saxophonist and humanitarian, are dedicated to provide jazz opportunities for enthusiasts. Sunday, (March 11:30 AM) Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. This annual arts festival, is the final Gasparilla event, showcasing the best artists from around the Tampa bay. Award-winning artwork is available for purchase. A variety of free family-friendly activities will be provided. The Tampa Museum of Art will host a Children's Activity area for children to color, paint, and draw while learning artist's tips. Specialty vendors will provide refreshments, the proceeds will benefit the festival and the Tampa Museum of Art.

Along with great artwork, the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts will have live entertainment and music. Performers for the 2013 Gasparilla Festival of the Arts will be announced as the event nears. Stay tuned!

Lastly, highlight Clearwater's monthly Fourth Friday Blast Music series. This month's music performers are the "Pure Prairie League” (Friday, March 29, 6:00 PM ), Capitol Theatre, Clearwater, FL. Prepare for the weather, break out the lawn chairs, pick up a pizza or eat health organic, those restaurants are side by side on Cleveland Street.
