The Young Professionals Network (YPN) of Tampa is made up of like-minded Tampa Realtors, and is based out of the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors (GTAR). The Tampa YPN has declared it will lead two teams of volunteers in the "Paint Your Heart Out Tampa 2013" event on April 20, 2013.
Paint Your Heart Out Tampa (PYHOT) is a city-wide program that allows volunteers to lend a hand to lower income or elderly residents in revitalizing the appearance of their residences. Many times these individuals either don't have the funds to keep up with the exterior maintenance, or just don't have the physical capabilities to do so. PYHOT offers that service to them, and in doing so, removes any potential blight from the neighborhood these homes are a member of. As local Tampa Realtors, the YPN group finds this an added benefit to helping the homeowners.
The Tampa YPN'ers are hoping to field each team with 20-30 volunteers to make the event a success for the two homes they've been awarded to revitalize. They hope to bring on a local Tampa Home Inspector to offer their services to the needy homeowners in an effort to make them aware of any potential dangers or threats. YPN Committee Member, Matt S. Bailey, is hoping to align the teams with a local landscaping contractor to maybe spruce up the yards, to even further the curb appeal being added.
Paint Your Heart Out Tampa has been called "...the best all-volunteer program that this community has ever had" by Mayor Bob Buckhorn.
