A late model 2008 LS3 Corvette has reached the ultimate speed across a Tampa Bay area bridge. It's not specified which bridge, however it appears to be the Howard Frankland. Honestly, there's really no way to tell for sure but the picture below illustrates the location pretty well. Either way, a Corvette pulled a run in the middle of the night and buried the speedometer on a LS3 Corvette on a public road of Tampa, Florida. Listen to the jubilation as they break the speed barrier! Only 200 mph can create that kind of madness.
The Howard Franklin bridge is about 16,000 feet long and varies between 50 and 70 feet in width. Crossing old Tampa Bay via 275 late at night can be dangerous, as many are caught speeding in this area and others around Tampa. Overall, one would be impressed to know that the street racing rates in Tampa are drastically low. Weekly events at Bradenton Speedway help keep the chaos on the track, and off the road. Every once in a while though, we get a wild man behind the wheel like below; but overall Tampa is a pretty safe city when it comes to street racing.
Even though this act is incredibly dangerous, the statistics on street racing deaths are surprisingly low. According to my research here, street racing deaths only account for .3% out of all fatal car accidents in America. In the most highest saturated area in the USA for street racing, street racing fatality only represents .001% of the total county death rate. Just because these numbers are low, doesn't mean you can go out and go street racing.
NOTICE! The last thing we want is to have our vehicles preemptively destroyed for getting pulled over for aftermarket parts and modifications. It's happening here! Do not street race, ever unless you want stuff like that happening here.
