Tampa Bay Rays switch roles for Rays on the Runway fundraiser event

Tampa Bay Rays' baseball players will hang up their uniforms for one evening of fashion. The annual Rays on the Runway fashion show is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25th at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort in St. Petersburg, Fla. starting at 6:30 p.m.

The fundraiser event in its ninth year and hosted by Rays Wives will feature the baseball players, their wives or girlfriends, siblings and special dream children modeling select attire from local stores and boutiques. Just before the fashion show commences the players will be available for meet and greet at the Palm Court where cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served along with a silent auction. The fashion show will include styles and accessories from Tommy Bahama, Penelope T Boutique, Don Me Now and other entities. All proceeds are for the Children's Dream Fund, an organization dedicated to helping children with life-threatening diseases.

Last year's participants included Julianna and Ben Zobrist, Brittany Svengard and Matt Joyce, Alison and Derek Shelton, Sarah and Sam Fuld, Anna Orlando and Matt Moore, Blair and Brandon Gomes, Jamie Edmondson and Evan Longoria, Morgan McNally and Jake McGee, Natalie Cresta and Jeremy Hellickson, Melanie McCauley and Cesar Ramos, Lauren and Kelly Johnson, Luke Scott, Chris Archer and Alex Cobb. It is yet unknown who will be this year's fashion models.

Rays on the Runway has raised over $275,000 to help the Children's Dream Fund make dreams come true for seriously ill children.
