Tampa Bay contestant featured on “Millionaire” show Wednesday on WTSP-TV

(Tampa, FL) The season premiere of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” will feature Tampa Bay resident Jerry Halstead on Wednesday airing on WTSP-TV 10 News. Halstead is a financial advisor from Seminole, FL.

“Millionaire” airs weekdays at 4:00 p.m. through September 9 and will move to weeknights at 7:30 p.m. beginning Monday September 12. The show, now in its tenth season, is hosted by Meredith Vieira who also co-hosted the “Today” show until leaving that post earlier this year.

Jerry Halstead said he plans to use whatever winnings he gets on the show to help preserve part of American history and preserve some of America’s Civil War battlefields. With a big win on “Millionaire”, Jerry said he would pay bills, travel, donate to charities, give money to his sons, buy a new car and throw a party.

“Millionaire” originated in the UK before the American version, hosted by Regis Philbin in 1998 on ABC-TV, became one of the most popular shows on television for several years.
