The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to unveil a brand new helmet with an updated logo this week, and many wonder if it will mean the return of Bucco Bruce. On Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, former Buccaneer Warren Sapp hopped on Twitter and let the news be known.
"New @TBBuccaneers helmet coming for 2014! Wait til you see this thing!! #Fire my G Gerald McCoy joins me live Thurs 8omEST @NFLNetwork"
Sapp is a Hall of Famer and he said that the new logo and uniform for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be revealed during a segment on the NFL Network's "Total Access" this Thursday evening.
The current look for the Buccaneers has been in place since 1997 when they changed from the creamsicle (orange and white) uniforms to the pewter and red. The change also took away Bucco Bruce (the pirate logo) and put in the pirate flag.
Sure, the new uniforms took them to Super Bowl winners, but fans have still wanted to see Bucco Bruce return. He has done so in a few games when the throwbacks were worn and fans loved them.
Everyone will be able to know this Thursday when the new logo and helmet for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are unveiled.
