A 25 year-old Islamic man, Sami Osmakac, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation the FBI announced on Monday. Osmakac lives in Pinellas Park, Florida but was planning for his terror attacks to be carried out in Tampa.
Osmakac's employer was an FBI informant and when Osmakac asked his employer where he could get bomb making materials and weapons for a terror attack targeting an Irish pub, night clubs and bridges in Tampa, Florida his boss introduced him to an undercover FBI agent posing as an arms dealer.
Two area Mosques had banned Osmakac because of his pro-violence and anti-American rhetoric.
Local Islamic clergy, as well as politicians, insist that Islam is a religion of peace and violence plays no part in it. However, trying to see where Osmakac's desires for violence originated, it goes directly back to the holy book of Islam, the Koran.
Surah 9:5 instructs Muslims to, "slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
Surah 3:151 openly states, "We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve because they ascribe unto Allah partners, for which no warrant hath been revealed. Their habitation is the Fire, and hapless the abode of the wrong-doers."
In some videos of Osmakac he made his contempt and hatred for anyone who is not a Muslim very evident. One key reason for this is probably found in Surah 2:98-99 which reads, "Who is an enemy to Allah, and His angels and His messengers, and Gabriel and Michael! Then, lo! Allah (Himself) is an enemy to the disbelievers. Verily We have revealed unto thee clear tokens, and only miscreants will disbelieve in them." In other words, disbelievers in Islam are enemies of Allah/God and of the angels. In addition, only evil people or miscreants do not believe in Islam.
There are many other violence promoting teachings and superstitions in Islam, just as there are in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles. Perhaps it's time for humanity to move beyond the ancient teachings of the various "revealed" religions and embrace their God-given reason.
