The Tampa Adventure Group and Canoe Outpost have both posted upcoming events for the month of January that look to be fun for both individuals or families.
The Tampa Adventure Group is hosting a Horseback Trail Riding event at the R and R Ranch at 9805 Bryant Rd in Lithia, FL on January 12, 2013 at 10:00 am. For more detailed event information, photos, maps, driving directions and to RSVP online click here.
Canoe Outpost, located on the Little Manatee River in Wimauma, FL, is hosting its annual Poker Ride/Hike/Paddle Event on January 19, 2013.
As the name suggests, contestants have the option to either hike, paddle a kayak or canoe, or ride a horse to collect playing cards from up to 6 locations in the Little Manatee River State Park.
Whoever turns in the highest hand wins. Players can receive extra cards for a better chance to win with a donation. First prize is $100. Entry fee is $20 and lunch is included. Also, on the Little Manatee River in January, the Tampa Adventure Group is hosting a 3 Day 2 Night - Group Camping event through the Canoe Outpost. in Wimauma. The dates are January 25-27.
If you don’t already own camping gear, you can rent a camping gear package for just $10. (What a deal!) Your tent, sleeping bag, pad, and lantern will be set up and ready when you arrive. Nice!
There will be a campfire each night and hot water showers, Saturday’s dinner and s’mores are included but you will have to provide your own meals for the rest of the time. For more details, please click here.
