You knew it was coming, Sherri Shepherd wouldn't let anyone forget. Team Mann posted it on social media and finally, it happened! Sherri Shepherd celebrated her birthday on today's episode of "The View". As the show drew to a close, award winning psalmist Tamela Mann graced the stage and brought "The View" studio audience to its feet as she delivered her smash "Take Me to The King".
Sherri Shepherd's presence on the show has brought gospel music and church topics to the forefront of daytime talk. She is outspoken about her faith walk as well as her friends. Sherri has invited fellow comedian and close friend Bone Hampton on the show for co-hosting segments and today marked the first of many shows that celebrity journalist Jawn Murray will spend co-hosting as well.
As Tamela wrapped her stirring performance, Jawn invited her husband David on stage who had a plaque in tow. As they exchanged pleasantries and birthday greetings, David presented Sherri with a GOLD album marking the 500,000 album sales milestone for Tamela's latest effort "Best Days". When asked by Jawn Murray why she thought the song is still doing so well, she said that the song says what people are thinking and feeling even if they're not saying it.
The song's impact could be felt as both Jawn and Sherri sang along and rushed the stage as she wrapped her performance. As part of the birthday celebration, the studio audience received copies of the album. What an awesome day for gospel music! The doors are flying open for Tamela Mann and as Jawn Murray pointed out, David and Tamela are the two of the nicest people in Hollywood (and anywhere else for that matter). Happy birthday to Sherri Shepherd from your friends everywhere!
