The Commercial Appeal is reporting today that an African American Tennessee man has been arrested in the death of a woman who died in a Domino's Pizza parking lot last year. Police say Brandon Taylor, 23, shot Tamara Hodges in her vehicle on June 26, 2013. After Hodges was shot, she pulled into a parking lot at the Downtown Domino's Pizza in Memphis, blew the horn and collapsed moments later.

Police were dispatched to 686 Union Avenue after being notified that a shooting had taken place. When police arrived on the scene, they found the body of 40-year-old Tamara Hodges lying on the ground outside of her vehicle. The victim had one gunshot wound to the back. She was transported to a local area hospital where she died from her injuries.

Onlookers told police that they observed an African American woman pulling into the Domino's Pizza parking lot, where she began blowing the horn for assistance. She tried to exit the vehicle but collapsed on the ground.

During a forensic examination of Tamara Hodges's 1994 Honda Accord, police found two bullets and two casings inside, according to the affidavit. The bullets found in Hodges vehicle were a match to Brandon Taylor's gun.

A criminal records check shows that Taylor had an extensive criminal history, including drugs and theft.
