Tallest water slide opens at Schlitterbahn Kansas City this week

If you are on Facebook, you have seen the videos everyone is sharing of the world's tallest water slide. This is at Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City and is not a far drive from Oklahoma. On Wednesday, CNN shared about this slide that is opening and how people can't wait to check it out.

This slide is called Verrückt and it is 168 foot tall. Jeff Henry, the owner of the water park, decided to build this slide himself when nobody else was willing to do it. He was also one of the first people to test it out. His head designer John Schooley also went along with it and tried it out. He admitted that it was really scary too.

Today this slide is only open for the media but Thursday it will actually open up to the public. It was supposed to open on May 23 but they had a few problems they had to get fixed. Luckily it is now ready to go and everyone can't wait to ride it. This slide is five foot taller than the previous tallest slide in the world.

The rafts on this ride only hold 3 people. They originally wanted it to hold four but they had to scale it back. It goes up to 40-50 miles per hour. This ride is a total rush and a lot of people on social networks are now saying that it is on their bucket list.

Kathy Lu went to Twitter to share about the big water slide. One of the guys said it was the "best ride I've ever done." It looks like this ride is going to excite a lot of people but others are terrified to even try it. The men coming off the slide were excited, clapping and had a great time on it. It is media day and they are having a blast on the world's tallest water slide at Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City.
