Former syndicated radio personality and current talk show host, Wendy Williams, shared celebrity Pilates workout secrets on her wildly popular television show, according to BroadwayWorld.com on Feb 21.
Williams, wife and New York Times best-selling author, invited celebrity trainer, Ann Pelino, to her show to demonstrate some of the favorite Pilates moves for hot Hollywood actresses such as Cameron Diaz, Megan Fox and Reese Witherspoon. Ms Pelino said,
“So Pilates is one of the most popular forms of movement in the country, and we work primarily on stabilizing our core, flexibility and balance.”
Wendy Williams likes to do Pilates because it is low impact on her joints, and she likes the feeling of stretching. Although it looks easy, Williams demonstrated some classic movements using a magic circle, stability ball and the reformer (a classic piece of equipment available at most health clubs or private Pilates studio.)
Wendy said she uses a personal trainer instead of attending a full class because she doesn’t like having to keep up with people, preferring to do it in her own time. Pelino emphasized that any level of fitness is able to do any number of literally hundreds of exercises on the reformer.
Pilates is great way to keep fit and work the entire body, especially the core. Wendy even shouted out to the audience to “keep your core tight” to further emphasize this point. This was definitely a great segment to remind everyone that Pilates is not intimidating. Be inspired and try something new. As Wendy Williams said, “If I can do it, you can do it. Trust me.”
