Malala Yousafzai is the teen aged girl whom the Taliban tried to assassinate because she dared say that women should be educated. Malala became a worldwide celebrity, when she was taken to England for treatment and after a three month recovery, was able to return to Pakistan, where she became the symbol for women's rights in the Muslim world. Now the Taliban wants another crack at her.
Malala has become emboldened to speak out even more after her shooting, than she did before and she is often invited abroad to deliver speeches on her experiences and her thoughts on women's rights.
She was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and she was expected to win. When she didn't, the Taliban cheered the event and vowed to kill her should they have a second chance. “If we get another chance, we will definitely kill her and that will make us feel proud."
Malala has written a book, called , "I Am Malala" and the Taliban has swron to kill any shopkeeper who sells the book.
Malala appeared on the Jon Daily Show this week to promote her book, “I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up For Education And Was Shot By The Taliban.” She was asked what she would do if faced by armed members of the Taliban again. She replied:
I would tell him how important education is and that I would even want education for your children as well. That’s what I want to tell you, now do what you want.
The answer she gave brought the audience to it's feet cheering and left Jon Daily in a stunned silence. The Taliban is almost certain to try again.
