When Helen Rapp's younger brother Turner was diagnosed with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes six years ago when he was 10. Helen wanted to help find a cure. She's the creative force behind the Arch City Theater Troupe and their annual free, family-friendly, fun-filled musical event. This annual performance should bring total funds raised for research to treat, cure and ultimately prevent diabetes to over $100,000 this year.
Starring and directed by forty students from 20 local schools, the show will feature numbers from some of your favorite musicals including “The Music Man”, “Hairspray”, “Shrek” and more. There will be a yummy bake sale and all proceeds from the evening will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. For more information call (314) 249-7175.
The sixth annual Arch City Theater Troupe's benefit musical, "Ain's Life Fine!" will run Friday, August 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 14 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The performance will be held at Center of Creative Arts (COCA) located at 524 Trinity Ave. in St. Louis. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated.
