People say your parents look out for you. Anyone who is older than you knows the ropes and wants to help you and not hurt you. That is not necessarily true.
Times have changed and things have changed since then. There are people who are getting married later in life. However it seems that no matter how much times have changed older people still have the same rules. Never say hi to a guy first, hurry up into a relationship, if a guy likes you he will ask you out right away etc.
If you are 26 and still single it is okay. If you are not ready to get married, then don't get married. If you would rather focus on your career than that is okay. Some people get married when they are 30. It's all about the right timing.
If you like a guy you should be comfortable around him. If you are testing the waters by waiting for him to say hi first then you are playing games. If you are waiting you also will get frustrated if he does not respond. Guys can't read minds so be yourself and don't expect things.
There are shy guys out there. So if a guy you like has not asked you out yet, don't lose hope. Maybe one day down the road he will or maybe there is someone even better than him. You can't force yourself to forget about him. Feelings go away on their own time. So if you like someone be happy and enjoy the moment.
If you have older people giving you advice and you feel that it is the wrong advice don't listen to them. Most people who give bad advice went through negative experiences in the past and think that they know everything. They don't each experience is different. It is best to learn from our mistakes and move on. Be positive and love will come your way.
